About Us

At Free Spirit Yoga, we believe that everyone deserves a place to feel grounded, inspired, and fully themselves. Located in the Lake Cable Shopping Center on Fulton Road, our studio is a welcoming sanctuary for all. Whether you are brand new to yoga or have been practicing for years, this is a place for you to feel at home. 

 

We are more than just a yoga studio. We are a community space where you can come to move your body, quiet your mind, and connect! Here, you'll find yoga as well as toning and Pilates classes for ALL ages and levels. We offer sound healing, workshops, and private sessions that support your whole well being.

 Rooted in the belief that movement is medicine and stillness is sacred, our mission is to make these practices accessible, transformative, and fun. There is no need to be flexible or fit, just come as you are and you will be welcomed for exactly that.

Shannon

Sharon, our Owner, started her yoga journey about 7 years ago to find strength, stability, and community.  She attended various studios, as well as attending yoga retreats to expand her practice.  She sought out instructing to revisit her first love of teaching and received her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher certification and has been involved in teaching and practicing, continuing to build her knowledge to share with others.  She combines the practice of yoga, and life experience, to give students both a physical, thoughtful, and meditative experience.   Her goal is to allow all types of students, all ages & genders, both new and experienced yogis, to have access to a local studio that supports yoga teachers and students, while promoting community, health, friendship, and acceptance.  She brings students along in a powerful class of various yoga flows, strength, and flexibility, ending in an intentional savasana.   When she is not on her mat, she continues to dedicate her time to her professional career in healthcare management, loves to travel, still prefers the beach, loves long walks, and spending time with friends and family.  Lastly, she is extremely proud and continues to focus her love on her most important people, Abby, Audrey and Adelyn Rose.

Kylie, our 200-hour E-RYT & 500-hour certified yoga instructor, is the manager and co-owner of Free Spirit Yoga. With over a decade of dedicated practice, she blends ancient yogic wisdom with modern insight to support nervous system regulation, postural integrity, and embodied healing. Her classes draw from a wide range of disciplines , including Tantra, Restorative Yoga, Ashtanga, Kundalini, and Somatic Movements. She is a certified Level II Reiki, Thai Massage, and Sound Healing Practitioner. Kylie is also currently studying to become a certified yoga therapist and looks forward to offering even deeper layers of healing to the community.

Kylie shares her time and love for yoga with local girls' and teens' empowerment programs and a day program for adults with disabilities. Beyond the mat, she celebrates beauty inside and out through her part-time work as a cosmetologist. When she isn't at the studio, she's curled up with a book, spending time with friends, or on the trails with her beloved pup Clover-who might just pop in for a visit now and then!

With a yoga journey that began in 2001, Gia shares her love for movement by helping students build strength and clarity through both dynamic and grounding flows. She completed her 200-hour certification at Yoga Strong in April 2022 and specialized in heat-infused vinyasa classes that energize the body, as well as calming Yin sessions that allow for deep relaxation. Gia blends high-energy movement with holistic healing, offering a well rounded approach to wellbeing. As a Level II Reiki Practitioner and sound healing facilitator, she also creates relaxing sound bath experiences using crystal singing bowls, chimes, drums, and her gong. Her classes are an invitation to feel strong, centered, and vibrant.

Nationally certified fitness instructor with over 30 years of experience in the fitness industry. Shannon received her certification through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) in 1996. Over the years she has also held other specialty certifications including Pilates Reformer and Personal Training through the National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA). She recently received her 200-hour Mindfulness, SEL, and Yoga Teacher Training through Breathe For Change. Shannon has been teaching Mat Pilates for over 20 years. She loves that that Pilates is a low impact workout that can dramatically transform the way your body looks, feels, and preforms by building strength, increasing flexibility, and developing a strong core. It is her pleasure to provide a safe, effective, and enjoyable class experience to people of all ages and varying fitness abilities. She enjoys using her knowledge, expertise, and experience to help people of all fitness levels achieve their goals.

Kerisa

Susan

With over 3.5 years of experience teaching barre, along with a background in bootcamp, TRX, and indoor cycling, Kerisa brings an athletic, energizing approach to every class she leads. Rooted in full-body movement, her classes are designed to elevate your heart rate, challenge your strength, and leave you feeling empowered from the inside out.

 

Before stepping into the fitness world, Kerisa spent 18 years as a competitive dancer. That lifelong love of movement—and of leading others—naturally evolved into a passion for group fitness. Her goal in every class is to create a space where you feel supported, and strong.

 

Expect to leave feeling better than you came, stronger than you started, and ready to conquer your day. Every class is an inclusive experience, designed to meet you where you are. With the freedom to modify or amplify each movement, every body is welcome—and capable.

 

When she’s not teaching, you’ll find Kerisa planning her next adventure, lost in a great book, or spending time with her husband and their dog.

She creates a welcoming and empowering space for all students, fostering a comfortable and supportive practice. Her classes progress with intention and mindful awareness, building poses thoughtfully from a solid foundation. Finding joy in sunny days, the peace of being near water, and the energy of friends and family, Susan also cherishes time with her two dogs, Lola and Nymeria. She is excited to join the Free Spirit Yoga community and looks forward to guiding your yoga journey!
